Dr. Conrad Murray Manslaughter Trial -- Prosecution Rests in Death of Michael Jackson

The prosecution just rested its case in Dr. Conrad Murray's trial -- now Murray's team will almost immediately attempt to make its case ... that the doc is not guilty.

Lead prosecutor David Walgren and his team called witnesses for almost four weeks before passing the baton to Murray's defense.

Murray's first witness was a quickie -- with Beverly Hills PD Communications Director Dona Norris discussing the 911 call the day Michael Jackson died.

Dr. Conrad Murray's defense team came out swinging today with their first string of witnesses -- including two LAPD detectives, a doctor who treated MJ for 15 years, and one of MJ's nurses.

Detectives Dan Myers and Orlando Martinez told the jury ... MJ's bodyguard Alberto Alvarez never mentioned anything about Propofol until two months after Michael Jackson died -- suggesting Alvarez may not have his story straight.

You may recall -- Alvarez testified in the first week of the trial ... Murray ordered him to stash vials of Propofol in a bag before asking him to call 911.

Murray's lawyers then questioned Dr. Allan
Metzger -- who claimed the singer had been struggling with sleeping problems for 15 years, and begged him for IV drugs as early as April 2009.

At the very end of the day, the defense called nurse practitioner Cherilyn Lee -- who testified during the preliminary hearing that Jackson asked her for Propofol as well while she treated him in 2009.

Joss Stone -- Suspect Pleads 'Not Guilty' in Samurai Sword Murder Plot

One of the men arrested in connection with an alleged plot to kidnap and murder soul singer Joss Stone pled "not guilty" this morning.

As TMZ previously reported, Kevin Liverpool and his alleged accomplice Junior Bradshaw were arrested back in June near Stone's property outside London. After searching their car, police claim to have found a samurai sword, rope, and a body bag ... as well as maps and aerial photos of Stone's house.

The men were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

Bradshaw has yet to enter a plea. Both men were ordered to be kept under lock and key until their trial next year.

Lawyers for Dr. Conrad Murray are insinuating ... the LAPD did a sloppy job retrieving evidence from Michael Jackson's surveillance cameras the day the singer died -- failing to make copies of crucial footage before it was erased.

The defense's second witness -- a surveillance specialist for the LAPD named Alex Supall -- just testified, he only handed over a few minutes of surveillance footage to investigators, showing MJ arriving home for the last time at around 12:45AM on June 25th, 2009.

As TMZ first reported, Murray's lawyers have had a big problem with how investigators only recorded a small fraction of surveillance footage from that day -- and demanded to see the entire 24-hour tape.

Specifically, Murray's lawyers want to see who entered MJ's house during that period -- footage that could prove their theory that evidence in the house was tampered with.

Problem is ... the cameras run on a 24-hour loop -- so, Supall testified, if the footage hasn't been transferred ... it's replaced with new footage and cannot be retrieved.

Supall said he only copied those few minutes to establish a timeline of when the singer returned home after his last rehearsal on June 24 -- everything else is gone forever.

Here come the waterworks -- TMZ has obtained video of Jennifer Lopez tearing up on stage Saturday night in Connecticut ... moments after she performed the song "Until It Beats No More."

The video kicks in right after Lopez -- who split from hubby #3 Marc Anthony in July -- finished up the performance.

Lopez had introduced the song by saying, "I'm going to sing you the last song I wrote about love ... a lot has changed since then."

Whoever was cutting those onions in the crowd should be ashamed of himself.

Rick Ross 911 Call -- The Mid-Flight Seizure 911 Call

TMZ has obtained the 911 call placed moments after Rick Ross suffered his first seizure on board a commercial airplane earlier this month.

According to the caller -- a rep for Delta airlines -- the plane was landing for a medical emergency involving a first class passenger ... but the caller never identifies Rick Ross by name.

As we first reported, Rick suffered another seizure later that same day ... on a separate flight.

Ross postponed an L.A. concert last weekend after promoters felt it was in his best interest to take a break.
